Grand Targhee Family Reunion Was A Blast!

The 3rd Annual Wood Family Winter Reunion had a great turnout. It was so fun to see everyone! It's thrilling to have something to look forward to especially in January. We really needed to get away and unplug. Our children appreciated the break from school. With the great turnout we sure enjoyed the banquet rooms. We felt spoiled having the two bedrooms and no stairs to hike to the fourth floor as in previous years. Thanks for the idea Alan. Amy thanks for all your planning. Monday morning the kids were not excited to go back to school.

Lots of powder and bluebird skies. We couldn't ask for anything more. Except for maybe stronger legs!

Whitney and Kristin were privileged to snowboard with the guys. this year. They were pretty awesome to watch. Brian, Jon, Dave, Austin, Stefan, Ryan, Rick, Spencer, and Preston. I was thrilled to see them do their front flips, 180's and 360's. You guys are amazing. We were envious at your abilities but thanks for letting us try and keep up with you.

Rick's favorite run was The Good through the trees.

Kristin loved going off Lost Groomers Trail through Waterfall. The natural pipe was a lot of fun to try.

I wish so bad that I would have had the video camera to get Spencer doing his front flip off the cornice it was so big. Spencer you rock!

Brinley started snowboarding last year and is doing really well this year. Brinley and Brielle had fun tubing and playing in the snow and swimming and hanging out with cousins.

The best place to be at the end of the day. Soaking the tired legs. It looks a little deserted today with no one in it compared to Friday night when they wanted to kick some of us out because there were too many people in it.

These pictures were taken last year. Ryan and Brian you guys are so cool!

Alan and Brianna

Whitney, Jacob and Brinley up in the loft.

Our favorite night time snow activity. Brinley, Brielle and Wendy tubing. We love you Wendy! The fox was so cute to watch during tubing he wasn't even afraid of people. The real wildlife to watch though was Craig and his crazy fart machine and pranks.

Brielle and Kara

CJ and Jackie. We missed you this year Jackie. I hope we will see you this summer.

Dave, Amy and Lynda

Alan and Rick lighting Spencer's Birthday cake. Spencer has celebrated his birthday the last three years at Targhee. He wouldn't have it any other way. We love our family and we love snowboarding I think we had a taste of what heaven will be like! We hope to see you all next year. We're already making plans and anticipating the fun.

Whitney's Going To France For Spring Break

Bon Jour! I guess Whitney will be brushing up on some conversational French. Whitney was chosen to be one of the 20 delegates representing Idaho Falls Mayors Youth Advisory Council. MYAC (consisting of all 4 area high school students) meets twice a month with the mayor to promote community involvement. They host self esteem camps for high risk children, comm-UNITY Fest, a New Years Dance plus endless other service projects and causes throughout the community. MYAC was invited to attend a public hearing for the licensing process for AREVA the new Uranium Enrichment facility being built out on the desert east of Idaho Falls. The youth read a letter supporting the decision to have AREVA in our area. AREVA was so pleased that they decided to host 20 students with an all exspense trip to France. The problem is they have more then 20 MYAC kids. So they were chosen based on peer vote, ranking in how involved they have been in MYAC and then had to write an essay. The last two months she was counting down till she turned 16 with a chain with dating quotes on it now we'll have to make a chain with 67 french words on it till March 22! She has been learning all about some of the famous landmarks in AP Euro. This will be an amazing experience plus she will be with one of her best friends. Au Revoir!

Duck Hunting At Birch Creek

Grandpa Cherney took Rick and the boys duck hunting. Spencer and Preston were finally able to attend hunters education this past fall. They were excited to use their new skills and go hunting around Birch creek.
